Link Building Tip: Find Sites with Google Related Function
October 18, 2006 | 2 comments
Looking for a way to find related sites to get links from? Try the Google related function. The function is also a good source of information for competitive intelligence.
In Google type “related:sitename.com”
Check out these examples:
Google - related:google.com
Search Engine Roundtable - related:seroundtable.com
Target - related:target.com
Now try it with your site. Better yet with your competition!

Not much there, I think a searching on your main keywords would give you a better idea of your competition. Tried some popular sites and got few results for competition and usually not the main competition, even online. I mean come on, nothing related to target.com?

Could be the data center you are on. I am seeing 31 related results for Target. Also keep in mind just because a site is not ranking today in the top 10 does not mean they are not competition. The site may just need a good SEO. There is nothing like taking a site that does not rank in the top 100 into the top 10 in a few months.
Remember it is all about finding better ways to get quality links. ;)
