Development Example Set by Playas del Coco

Devon Magee, TicoTimes.net, recently reported on the hard-line example Playas del Coco is setting for other costal towns in Costa Rica. He reports that the local municipality started demolishing all illegal constructions within 50 meters from the water’s edge designated by ZMT laws. These areas are intended for public use and have been mostly ignored.

“The project is a publicly funded pedestrian boulevard that will run the length of the beach – about one kilometer – and will include public gardens, benches, kiosks and lighting.”
